DNA Results: Taking those next steps to success! A 2022 Fall Seminar Preconference Workshop with Dana Kelly Friday, October 14th 12:00 - 3:00 PM DNA testing is the new frontier for many genealogists. With all the marketing emphasis on ethnicity estimates, the most valuable part of the test is often overlooked. Join us for a workshop to learn more about using your DNA test results to build your family tree and confirm your paper research. For this workshop, it is recommended that you have taken one of the four major tests: AncestryDNA, 23andMe, MyHeritage, or FamilyTree DNA. It is also recommended that you bring your laptop so you can log into the website and work with your results. Dana Kelly serves as Executive Director of the Norwegian American Genealogical Center & Naeseth Library. She is a graduate of the Scandinavian Studies Department at UW-Madison and has been a lifelong family history enthusiast. She routinely presents to Norwegian cultural groups, genealogical societies, and other organizations about genealogy and Norwegian immigration history. In addition to her role at NAGC, she serves on the board of directors of the Koshkonong Prairie Historical Society and Dane County Area Genealogical Society. Dana will be leading a virtual DNA series for the Wisconsin State Historical Society on October 29. This pre-conference will be presented the day before the WSGS Fall Seminar. Attendees will be sent the handout electronically the week of the pre-conference.
